Turkey Update!

Turkey Update!

As we head towards December with increasing speed and totted up how many birds we need for the festive period, we took a moment to contemplate why we eat turkey at Christmas.

Research showed that whilst pheasants and roast boars were a popular feast centuries ago, Henry VII was partial to this particular bird.  It was in fact made fashionable to eat turkey by Edward VII.

This has remained the case in 76% of British households and it was estimated that 10 million of the succulent birds were consumed last year.  We don’t think we will need to order quite so many here at The Bustard Inn, but we can assure you there will be plenty available when our Christmas menu becomes available from 1 December along with all of the other tasty trimmings.

As always, our front of house team is available for bookings and queries on 01529 488250 or bookings@thebustardinn.co.uk.
